Proactive or Procrastination

I'm a procrastinator... I always have been. People hate me for it with the highest levels of hatred possible. I remember seeing a meme and it said, "procrastinators unite!.... Tomorrow" and it made me laugh really hard. Its really a large problem for me. Procrastination effects me a lot. Every week I think if I have time to do something then i'll just wait till the last day that I have to do it, and then I forget to do what I was supposed to do.

Even this blog post that your reading probably took a few days for me to remember to get done. I wish I could become the best student ever and still be who I am but its hard. There are so many classes that I could have an A in right now but I don't finish the work I need to too get that A.  All the slacking off I do makes everything so hard for me. I always wait till the last day to do something and I  desperately want to change that.

I would change my work habits a lot. Back in 2nd 3rd and 4th grade I was a perfect student. I never had detention. I almost never got in trouble, and teachers loved me. I started procrastinating in 5th grade and now its hard to stop. If I could change my work habits I would make them what they used to be. I would do my work right after school. I would turn all important papers in the day after I got them. I would change by writing myself notes or writing on a calendar so I would remember what I needed to do for the day. After a while I would probably remember what I needed to do without the calendar or notes helping me and remembering what I needed to do would become a habit of mine.

My Visual Poem

NiitsuO VisualPoem from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.
My poem was about expression and expressing your self. At first I just Wanted express myself with the poem and the visuals and just film and say random things that I felt like saying. After realizing that I wasn't aloud to do that I did my poem on expression it self. I felt my visuals didn't really make an impact. I forgot to check out a camera twice so Two of my b-roll shots didn't make any sense but I had to use them. The first b-roll shot that didn't make sense was when I was messing around and filmed the lock on the door to our classroom.

Lessons Learned

The most interesting part of our project was probably just filming skateboarding. I really like too film skating and things like that . Also interviewing my friends was weird because I know them so well but I still had to ask them questions I know the answers too.

It was extremely hard to find the time to meet up with each other. Most of us always had an excuse for why we couldn't  check out a camera. Most of us just blamed each other for never filming anything or doing any work. It was really hard for our group to communicate with each other. I think it was a good challenge trying to work with people that don't get along with you.

The most valuable part of the film making process is probably editing. If you edit something good it will look good. I love to edit skate videos. Mainly a skate video is all about how you film it and then how you edit it. Good editing plus good camera angles and good footage equals a great skate video. Basically get great footage and edit it even better.

The Experiment

The experiment was a new thing too our class. Being new to specifically the returning GT students because our teacher Mr. Sanderl would guide us through every step when doing things in class last year. With the experiment though we had a chance to express ourselves in photoshop freely without being told what to do which I personally enjoyed very much. As you can see above my amazing drawing of stuff was created with no help at all although I would consider returning GT students as myself to be cheaters because we kinda already know how to work photoshop but I'm sure it was fun for the new people.

Back to School

My favorite moment in school so far was drawing and creating our own flags in Mrs. Nagatori's class. This is because drawing things is one of my favorite things to do. I have not had any real big challenges lately which is nice. But I have been having trouble with turning in a collage that we have to get done in my AVID class. AVID is a program to help you get ready for college. I will be successful by doing my best and turning all my work in. I hope that I can get a 4.0 this year at least once. Mainly I am just going to try my best and hope for the best and that should help me complete my goals this year.

Five Tips For

Our team chose to do skateboarding. Of course the one skating is me. The reason we chose skating is because skating is really cool, its easy to film and we didn't have any better ideas. But we could have done better with the footage, we needed me doing a kick flip in more places than just one or two. We also could have got me doing a kick flip off a set of stairs. All together though we did pretty well.

Profile Project Progress

Me and my teammates have been working on this interview were supposed to do. We are interviewing my friends grandma Mrs. Fernandez. The whole point was to get the oldest member of one of our families to tell us a interesting story. We ended up getting Mrs. Fernandez telling us about her family and raising and taking care of her children. We filmed the interview voice-overs and b-roll at her house.
For the b-roll we had to film her at her house. We got bunch of shots of her family and all her christmas decorations, and yes christmas decorations because she was known as the christmas lady. The voice overs were troubling because unfortunately  we did not have much time to do it.
Raghav Kumar our team member did the voice overs. We lost points because of him though because he didn't have expression. Raghav did read the voice overs clearly but no expression unfortunately.
In the end we didn't score the highest. Are video turned out ok but we could have done better.
But I think in our teams we worked hard together. Thats what really matters and we tried our best so through my eyes we did pretty good.

Practice Story Reflection

We had to do a story about me making animation. It was about how I started animation and what kept me going with it. We had to make up five questions for the interviewer to ask me. I was the center of attention! It was all about me, it felt good!
One of the most challenging things was making sure the interview equipment  was good to go. We had to retake our interview and our b-roll. We had to retake the b-roll because the files were not fully imported! We had to retake the interview because my mic wasn't on the whole time! But are team worked out fine. We all encouraged each other and did our best.
Are interview was pretty good in the end. It was fun at sometimes and stress full at others.
We had to rush. It was crazy! But in the end it all worked out fine.

Composition Techniques

     COMPOSITION TECHNIQUES
The four main composition techniques are rule of thirds, framing, close up, and unusual angles. These composition techniques are very use full and important for professional storytelling.
Composition techniques can bring interest and meaning to the story. Without composition techniques movies would be dull and boring. There are other techniques that can help visual storytelling but these four main techniques are the most helpful and important.

Polar Panoramas

These are two polar panoramas that I made. I created these by taking at least 10-15 photos of a location with a nice horizon line. I took the photos while circling around 360 degrees overlapping each photo 10-15 percent. All the photos that had to be vertically oriented in order for it to look good.  I then merged the photos together using photoshop. After merging the photos together it created a regular panorama, I saved the panorama then changed its size to 5000 by 5000. Once that was done I clicked polar coordinates  in photoshop and I was done!

Spherical Panoramas

I created this spherical panorama by taking 10-15 pictures while spinning around 360 degrees. After that I edited the photos in adobe bridge. Then I transferred the photos from adobe bridge to photoshop. I took my already photo merged panorama from finder and resized it to 500 by 500.
Lastly I hit polar coordinates and Im done!

Three Shot Sequences!

A three shot sequence is a sequence of three shots. A three shot sequence usually consists of a wide a medium and a close shot. Sometimes the close shot is an extremely close shot! Sequencing can be helped with certain techniques. These techniques include framing leading lines and contrast of content. Without three shot sequencing movies would be boring.

Final Photomontage

I created this awesome photomontage by taking twenty pictures editing them in adobe bridge and then by putting them together in photoshop.
My inspiration for these came from David Hockney.

Magizine Cover

I created this magazine cover with the help of my teacher Mr. Sanderl at KMS. The drawing in the back is a contour drawing that took a lot of time and effort that I painted and outlined myself.
